Hi- Its interesting that I too have changed from Hughes net ( I am considering selling my 7000s and dish) I changed to an Alltel card it is unlimited use and we both use it got a Cradlepoint router for it. so far we love it only one cg we couldn’t get on with it, we were in the rockies. same cost as Verizion and 2 yr contract.

Gertrude, Verizon has become awfully good! We have excellent connection right now in a rural park with *lots* of trees. It’s so nice not to need a treeless site! But, at least a couple of places so far this summer have been veeerrrrryyyy slow and I found myself missing my satellite dish.

I forwarded this link to my husband who then promptly declared we needed to go to our local Verizon store. We are now the proud owners of the Mifi. It’s amazing and appears to be as fast, if not faster, than our cable internet at home. That’s impressive. We are taking it to the mountains this weekend to try it out in our trailer. It’s about the same size as a credit card. We only plug it in to re-charge the battery. We do have a 5 gb limit. And, the contract is for 2 years at $60 a mo. They have a 30 day return policy, though, so we will put it through its paces and see what happens. Thanks!
